STOP, DROP, AND RETREAT! – IT’S TIME TO LET GO! |
| |
Whether for a few hours, a day, or a week, the turn of
seasons is an essential time to slow down for some
sort of Retreat. Retreat literally means to withdraw
or step back. Taking this time helps you break the
cycle of habitual living and creates an environment
for us to regain perspective on our life - to revive
our energy, and reconnect to that which is most
important to us. We see, hear and feel more clearly
after a retreat. We can retreat any time really. For
an instant retreat at work, enjoy a slow walk around
the block and enjoy the sights, smells, movement of
your body, and air moving in and out of your lungs.
Or, take a whole day, stay home and turn off your cell
phone, computer and television. Spend time doing
yoga, soak in a warm bath, journal, play music, create
art, meditate, write a letter or cook. Eat a warm
nourishing meal by candlelight. If your budget allows,
get a way for a night and stay in an inspiring natural
environment like the beach, country, or mountains (but
I’ve even retreated to the hotel in the neighboring
town before!) And if you have the time to enjoy a
longer get a way retreat – come join me as I’d love to share the joy with you! |

YOGA IN PARADISE RETREAT |
|
|
March 8-14, 2008 -- Isla Mujeres, Mexico |
|
|
Indulge in an unforgettable island vacation in the Mexican
Caribbean, while you deeply enhance your yoga practice!
What I have been telling people is that the trip is
magic, except that it is completely real. The cumulative effects
of the week are both subtle and extraordinary. The individual practice
and the group energy create a unique energy and a lovely authentic
shared experience that transcends either. Thank you so much for
creating the opportunity and sharing your experiences. I had an
unforgettable time. Thank you and love, --Patricia.
"Yoga in Paradise was one of my most memorable weeks and
personal voyages. It was simply amazing. From the interesting people
of our group and the tranquility of Isla Mujeres to the sun and
warm ocean breeze.... all coming together as we did yoga in the
tree house. It was a week full of beautiful energy and
spirit, thanks to Jillian. I felt healthy and whole. I can't wait
until next year" --Carol.
EXPAND YOUR YOGA PRACTICE:
Imagine
doing your yoga in an open air, thatch roofed, tree house.
Youll flow through your practice as the island breeze caresses
your skin. Jillians unique week-long series of classes sequentially
builds asana, meditation and relaxation skills, to truly deepen
your practice. You are guaranteed to return home with a revitalized
body, a calm mind and an awakened spirit.
AN UNFORGETTABLE CARIBBEAN VACATION
Isla Mujeres is a classic, serene, white sand island on the tranquil,
blue-green Caribbean Sea
just like the picture
sanctuary that youve been dreaming of. We have top rated accommodations
at Hotel Na Balam. This very special hotel sits amidst lush tropical
gardens, on the most beautiful beach on the island and boasts a
4-star gourmet restaurant. We promise that Yoga in Paradise
is the perfect antidote to every day life. Youll enjoy two
yoga classes each day; an invigorating morning vinyasa series and
a calming evening practice. Between yoga sessions you are invited
to play hard or relax deeply; stay cool and lazy in a hammock; sun
bathe, scuba dive, or stroll the town and explore fabulous shops
and restaurants. On your free day, Wednesday, you'll have time to
visit nearby Tulum, Xcaret, Cozumel, or Chichén-Itzá.
This is an ideal vacation to take alone or with travel companions.

goers are repeat customers! The rate speaks for itself! Thank
you for organizing such a great retreat.

RAVES FROM PAST PARTICIPANTS:
As I was searching the Internet for yoga sites, I just
happened to come across Jillian's web site and read about her yoga
retreat in Isla
Murjeres, Mexico. Not having her as an instructor or knowing anything
about her, I decided to take the leap of faith and go on the retreat.
It was everything I was looking for. I've been on a retreat to Cabo,
MX and also the Yoga Journal cruise in 2003. Jillian's personality,
youthfulness, and expertise was in every class - from the slow flow
intense morning sessions to the restorative, meditation sessions
in the
evenings. We ended the week with a walking meditation thru town
to the beach sitting in meditation watching the sun set. It was
very heart-touching and spiritually uplifting. NaBalam is truly
a wonderful place to do yoga - in a real tree house -- you hear
the ocean waves, feel the tropical breezes and are occasionally
visited by an iguana. It was definitely Yoga in Paradise.
Thank you Jillian. You are a wonderful teacher. I will be back next
year and bring one of my students. Namaste, Donna
What an incredible week ... and certainly one of the most
memorable things I've done. I can't believe I waited so long to
do this! Thank you so much for your incredible energy and spirit.
The week was inspiring and helped me gain new perspective on things.
It was also an incredible the group of people. Some of the best,
most interesting, warm and real people I have met. What a wonderful
experience to spend time with them all. And, what a wonderful experience
to spend a week practicing with you! You have a very special gift
that shines thru in all you do. Thank you for sharing it with me
and with us all during the week. I'm planning to make this an annual
thing. Love Carol.
You draw such a special group of people. Thank you for
such an amazing weekend. My first phone call at work this morning
was at about 10, and it's a vendor that I call about 6 times a day,
the first thing she said to me was, "you sound different, what's
going on?" It was funny, even my voice is grounded and wrung
out of toxins. I AM different! With love, Nicole.
What a great retreat. Your classes were amazing. You have
something very special, a unique ability to communicate extremely
subtle, complex concepts in a way that different types of people
all seem to understand on a level that is not just the normal conscious
level. We are lucky to have your teaching. Thank you! - Rich.
We had such a great time in Mexico. Our hearts are overflowing
with Sunshine! I needed that vacation soooooooo badly - the friends
(old and new), the great laughs and laying around, the yoga, the
meditations, the food, the breezes - oh my gosh - I could go on
and on -----thank you thank you thank you (and Brad!) for organizing
such a wonderful opportunity to enjoy life!!! Namaste,
Michele
If you wish to wash your body, mind and spirit with bliss
that returns home with you, Jillian's finely orchestrated yet down-to-earth
retreat is the way to go. Her brilliant classes and delicious free
time with sun, sand and sea combine for a smile-making mental makeover
that is beyond compare. Prepare to be pampered.
Jocelyn
It was such a fantastic way to spend a vacation: being
in a beautiful place, with inspiring people. I left for Mexico knotted
with tension and exhausted from stress, and came back feeling like
I'd done a magically recuperative thing for my heart, my head and
my body. Pamela
Thank you for the best vacation I've ever experienced!
What an amazing week in Isla Mujeres with you, your family, and
a truly inspiring group of individuals. Thank you for sharing your
wisdom, time, and family with us all. You have restored health and
wellness to me, your gift of kindness is beyond talent. You are
an incredible woman! Love and warmth, Marie
Yoga in Paradise was simply WOW to the nth degree! My memories
of Isla are so wonderful and warm as every one is interwoven with
the fun, joy, inward reflection and mindful movements that you brought
to all of your yoga classes within that beautiful tree house setting!
Your teaching is so deliberate and completely present. I truly enjoyed
being able to savor the subtlety of each position before being brought
to the next.
You have a great gift for being able to communicate each movement
with such precision since surely you have lived them with every
fiber of your being. Slowness and deliberation help reveal the beauty
of life. Through this wonderful retreat, you have helped me to get
back in touch with the practice of yoga that I so truly love.
- With love, light and peace, Namaste, Gail |

Light.

A rejuvenating and joyful week of yoga and meditation
with Jillian Pransky
“It doesn't matter how long we may have been stuck in
a sense of our limitations. If we go into a darkened
room and turn on the light, it doesn't matter if the
room has been dark for a day, a week, or ten thousand
years - we turn on the light and it is illuminated.
Once we control our capacity for love and happiness,
the light has been turned on.” – Sharon Salzberg.
Yogis believe that happiness is an “inside job”: that
energy follows thought. Contentment is not a
mysterious occurrence. It is a behavior, a conscious
decision. It is a choice we make, each day, each
moment of our day, with each thought we have (or don’t
have). And while yogis believe this state of
contentment is our birth rite, they acknowledge that
it takes steadfast practice to live this way. However,
with even a small glimpse of this state, we are able
to find it more easily and more often. It’s not a
mater of faith, it’s a matter of practice.
Yoga offers many asana and mediation techniques to
help us practice ‘being’ in this state, and little by
little these moments of practice begin to stretch into
our life time. And this week you’ll enjoy these
various forms of yoga and meditation as well as many
practical techniques to bring with you off your mat
and into your life moment by moment.
Jillian artfully weaves together mindfulness, insight
meditation, and mudita (joy meditation) together with
vinyasa yoga, restorative yoga, and deep relaxation to
help you grow beyond habitual limited patterns of
moving and thinking. And as your mind opens to new
possibilities, so does the body!
This week will brighten your body, widen your heart
and lighten your mind! You’ll leave totally radiant,
relaxed, and inspired.
Surrounded by the beautiful Berkshire Mountains, Kripalu is the perfect setting for this rejuvenating week. You will enjoy a 3 hour morning session and a 2 hour early evening session each day. Our delicious natural meals are made with the best seasonal ingredients offering incredible healing properties. When you are not in class you are free to rest or play as you please.

In the evenings you can opt for a concert, independent film, or some other special event. Of course, there is also so much to explore in the Berkshires.
