After each
yoga session, I take a moment to bring to mind whatever I have gratitude
for at that moment. It is the perfect time to practice. Try it next
time you sit quietly at the end of your practice. Bring to mind
anything you are grateful for (big or small). Then send out your
appreciation in return. back

| I've found the Juice Master
of the Universe. Melvin at Lifetyme Health Foods on 6th Ave (btwn
8-9). He's there m-f 7-3pm. I love his Power Pleaser -- All greens
(spinach, kale, and parsley) with lemon, ginger, apple. Juicing is
a great way to keep your immune system strong and digestive track

YOUR NOSE |
| Bronchial and sinus infections
arise as we crank up heaters and get less fresh air. To help prevent
colds and infections, I use a Netti Pot throughout the winter. A Netti
pot is a simple ceramic device with a long spout that has apparently
been around for about as long as the practice of medicine. You fill
it with warm water and a teaspoon of sea salt, pour the water in one
nostril and have it come out the other! It takes practice but I found
it is well worth the effort! Using a Netti Pot can helpremove certain
virus products, making less work for the body's natural immune and

TRAINING |
| I am excited
to announce I am leading a Yoga Teacher Training Program along with
Senior Yoga Zone teacher, Carrie Parker. This program begins April
2002. It is designed for serious yoga practitioners interested in
either deepening their study of yoga or teaching. It's also good for
teachers who are working towards their National Certification. The
program will take place over 9 months, approximately one weekend per
month, and meets the standards of the National Yoga are held in Hoboken,
NJ. (Less than a 15 minute commute from NYC) To receive an application

| A
DAY OF BLISS |
|
On November
11, I hosted a 2-hour Restorative Retreat at Yoga Zone. It was wonderful!
In addition to six talented and giving assistants, I had two special
guest Healers from Integrative Rehab Therapy who made sure all 40
yogis got plenty of hands-on-work to help release tension and blocked
energy. Restorative poses are simple yet profound. You lay passively
over props such as bolsters and blankets, holding poses for 10-15
minutes while you relax deeply and focus gently on your breath.
With the help of gravity and intention you can surrender layers
of deeply stored tension. Muscles melt, the mind calms, and the
heart softens. It was incredible to watch the energy in the room
shift and lighten. My next mini-retreat is Saturday January 26 and
I'll be teaching along with Lois Nesbit. And Feb 16 I'll offer the
Restorative Retreat along with our special guest healers again!
